Our journey began with our Founder, Late Mr. L.S. Davar starting his practice in a single room in Pre-Independent India. Late Mr. Davar was mesmerised by the realm of Intellectual Property and identified its importance in the shaping up of businesses as well as the nation. He was invited to the Parliament of India as a witness to the joint committee which was constituted to present a report on the Patent Bill, 1965. Based on the recommendations of this committee the Patents Act, 1970 was enacted, which continues to be the governing Law of the land with respect to patents. Late Mr. Davar played a crucial role in shaping the trajectory of the IP landscape in India, with his deep understanding of the law, he was responsible for handling some of the largest IP litigations in post independent India.

Our Managing Partner and Principal Attorney at Law, Dr. Joshita Davar Khemani has played a crucial role in advancing and crystalizing the sphere of Trademarks in India. Dr. Davar Khemani has played a pivotal role in designing and structuring the IP portfolio and strategy for some of the largest companies of India. Keeping in line with our philosophy of dynamism, Dr. Davar Khemani identified the risk Cyber threats pose and went on to introduce legal services for Cyber and Data Protection Laws. Dr. Davar Khemani heads a team of seasoned IP professionals, with an average experience of Fifteen Years and an average retention of ten years. Under her leadership the firm has significantly increased its footprint with offices in New Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad.
